Driving the Process™ Engagement Methodology
AXIS has developed a Project Management department to assure our clients of dedicated oversight on all aspects of the engagement. Make no mistake, the provision of IT-centric sales and marketing solutions necessitates that an air-tight engagement methodology be applied and adhered to throughout each phase of the project including definition, design, development, deployment and debriefing.
Define: Project Planning and Discovery Phase. Project discovery sessions define the scope of the project, probable resource requirements and confirm deliverables against which a final Statement of Work (SOW) can be applied. AXIS works collaboratively with our clients to plan the requirements (operational, technical, business) for the discovery sessions. The “interview” sessions or workshops are necessary to gain a comprehensive understanding of client requirements. The output of the discovery phase is a SOW, which presents a clear definition of the project scope and the work to be performed by AXIS. Included are requirements summaries, description of work and tools, assumptions, roles and responsibilities, priorities and interdependencies, timelines and key milestones and budget.
Design: Based on the thorough discovery sessions and the resulting Requirements document, technical design sessions are held with key stakeholders in the project. The output is a technical design document with emphasis on the process flow captured within a Visio document.
Development: The implementation phase begins after the proposed design(s) are reviewed and approved by project stakeholders. Typically, the AXIS project team is expanded at this point to include (depending on the engagement type, timelines and budget) additional production and quality assurance resources to develop the database application, support system testing, perform extensive QA and assist in the UAT case preparation.
Deployment: Working in conjunction with our client’s IT professionals, the application is deployed in AXIS secure production environment. Our experts assist in the tuning of software components and process logic to ensure optimum performance and account for future utilization and scalability requirements.
Debriefing: Full application knowledge transfer and production turnover. During this phase (which typically overlaps with the latter portion of the Development and Deployment phase), business and technical client staff are trained and mentored on the software tools and database application(s). Comprehensive documentation detailing the components of the technical solution and architecture for the database application (including technical specifications) will be transitioned as well.
